October 2005  -  14 days through green Ireland

With our own car we drove through France and set over a slightly stormy sea from Roscoff to Rosslare (Ireland) by ferry. We then followed the roads through the middle of Ireland over Carlow - Clonmel - Thurles - Athlone to Sligo, then along the west coast over Westport - Galway - Cliffs of Moher to Limerick. We discovered many ruins eg. the "Rock of Cashel", visited some castles (Kylemore Abbey, Ashford Castle, Duncuire und Droamland Castles) and a few heritages (Céide Fields, Craggaunown, Fort Dunberg, Bunratty Folk Park). Through small roads we drove beside blue lakes, through Connemara NP, the hills of "the Burren" and along the steep cliffs of Downpatrick and Moher.

We spent a few days in the south-western part of Ireland, visited the Dingle Peninsula, the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara, which we found the finest travels in this area. As we already did in summer 1997, close to Killarney we again walked the Gap of Dunloe, unfortunately in light rain - anyway we have had our plaisure. Over Skibbereen - Cork - Waterford we came back to the ferry terminal of Rosslare, from where we crossed the channel in 18 hours and came home 14 hours later.

We have had a nice holiday in an english-spoken country, which we found, supported the learnings of our son Remo, who since summer 2004 has learnt the english language at home.

Winter 2003 / 2004  -  Australia / New Zealand
It's been the last chance for the next 10 years to easily spend some time travelling round as Remo joined in the kindergarten. Ans as bad luck happened we took the best out of it and have been travelling for 5 months through Australia and New Zealand. First visiting Tasmania, the Red Centre (Alice Springs) and western Australia (Perth) we then jumped over to New Zealand for 2 wonderful months and spent another 2 months in south eastern part of Australia, between Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Having taken about 3'500 colour slides, I also took about double digital pictures.

Summer 2001  -  travelling through  Western Canada
We had been travelling for two months through British Columbia & Alberta. Starting in Vancouver we travelled with a camper through well known Nationalparks such as Jasper, Banff, Waterton and Provincialparks such as Mt. Robson, Dinosaur, Manning to Calgary and back.

We had an exciting holiday trip and admired the wonderful scenery and landscapes (lakes, mountains, canyons). It's just marvellous over there. We always remember when watching our colour slide show.
